We are located in Downtown Los Angeles. Please make sure that you could commute to the location prior to applying.

BEFORE YOU APPLY
Before you apply, please take some time to review this page and the expected task list. These are mainly the usual tasks that my team and I usually require interns to do. If you are not interested in performing these kinds of tasks, it’s all good. This just isn’t the right internship for you. No need to apply.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR INDIVIDUALS:
-Who could physically help the team during shoots (Set-up, carry gear, dismantle equipment, maintain studio cleanlilness)
-Who are knowledgeable with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
-Who are digital natives (knows the internet and social media)
-Who are open for mentorship and training
-With the ability to communicate effectively via email and in person
-Who is passionate about art, fashion, style, photography
-Who have access to a computer and phone
-Who can travel (using whatever method) at any reasonable point and time
-Who is committed, loyal, and never give excuses
-Who knows how to have fun
INTERNSHIP DURATION:
The program usually lasts for 3-6 months. If you’re applying for University / School credits, let us know about your school requirements.
After finishing the program, if you’re interested in joining the team, you are welcome to apply and extend your working period with us.
Some Expected Tasks:
-Setting-up gear / carrying equipment / break down equipment / equipment rentals
-Studio Maintenance (Keep the studio space clean, EQ inventory, studio cleaning, etc)
-Involvement with Digital Tech Team (tether, transfer of images, etc during shoots)
-Production Assistant (responsible for helping the set run smoothly, running errands, taking food orders, guiding clients to the restroom, connect with wi-fi, etc) / Prop Assistant (you may be asked to assist with prop styling at some point. Includes pick-up and return of props, looking for props, etc) / Research (research different photoshoot locations, creating moodboard, equipment rental spaces, etc)
Compensation
Please note that this internship is unpaid. However, for your work, and the time that you will bring to the team, you will be compensated with various opportunities (see OPPORTUNITIES section below) and I will work with you as closely as possible to help you with any photography and career questions.
If in any occasion, you get assigned to work with me on a paid project, you will definitely get compensated for your time for that specific project. Please note that it takes trust and experience to bring someone to the team
Opportunities / What will you get out of the internship program
-Opportunity to sit-down with Irvin for a portfolio review every month, career advice, etc
-Opportunity to join and assist in Test shoots, Editorial shoots, Commercial shoots and celebrity shoots
*Opportunity to be included in a potential Gallery Show as your final internship project with your fellow interns
-Opportunity to be selected as one of the assistants on any paid, commercial shoot
-Mentorship opportunity with Irvin (Lighting/Moodboarding/Marketing/Storyboarding) + Team Building opportunities
-Opportunity to network and work with the top people working in the industry
-Opportunity to attend and be a part of any workshops with Irvin ($500-$1500 value)
-Studio use 1x per month (as long as it is available, must be booked in advance)
*Show depends on time and availability. May or may not happen on a specific internship period
Time
Time is pretty flexible depending on your schedule, but we expect to work with you at least 2-3 times a week, depending on the project.
Mandatory attendance on set (At least 5 times during program duration)
